IISER Kolkata invites applications from motivated students for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme for the Spring 2026. The selected candidates can do Ph.D. in any of the following disciplines: Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences,Computational and Data Sciences, Earth Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics,Physical Sciences and Space Sciences.
Reservations for candidates will be as per Govt.of India norms.
Application fee (non-refundable) for GEN, EWS, OBC-NCL: ₹ 200/-
Application fee (non-refundable) for PwD, SC, ST: ₹ 100/-

Important Instructions:
1.All candidates must report to Room No. 113, First Floor, Research Complex, IISER Kolkata on the day of the interview.
2.Bring one copy of your online filled application form.
3.Bring your original identity card.
4.Bring original educational qualification certificates.
5.Bring original qualifying exam certificates — NET (Category-1/JRF, Category-2/LS, Category-3), GATE, JEST, etc.
6.Carry one set of photocopies of all the above documents (as mentioned in Sl. Nos. 2–5).
Recommendation Letters:
Two recommendation letters must be sent directly by your referees to dps.phd.application@iiserkol.ac.in with the subject line:
"Recommendation Letter for [Applicant Name] ([Application No])".
