Instructions and Guidelines
Please note the following information for registering and for taking admission in IISER Kolkata:
  1. The pre-registration for selected candidates is open between 24th June to 2nd July 2013 at 5:00 pm. You must register yourself online at our application portal at http://apply.iiserkol.ac.in/phd/registration-cessi.html before the offer expires. Failure to register yourself online will debar you from taking admission at IISER Kolkata.
  2. Online form will require your scanned recent photograph.
  3. You will have to pay the required amount Rs 13,300/- (Rupees Thirteen Thousand Three Hundred only) for General/OBC category or Rs 9,300/- (Rupees Nine Thousand Three Hundred only) for SC/ST category.
  4. You must pay using NEFT so that your payment is identified with an Unique Transaction Reference (UTR) number.
    1. National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) could be done from any NEFT-enabled branch having unique IFSC code.
    2. Please note that payment must be made in favour of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata to Indian Overseas Bank, Salt Lake City branch, Kolkata, a/c no. 089301000013928 (Name of the account: IISER-KOLKATA a/c Admission/Registration, IFSC Code: IOBA0000893, MICR: 700020029, Swift: IOBAINBB015, Branch code: 893) from any NEFT-enabled scheduled bank in India. On making the payment the receiving bank will provide the transaction details which will indicate the Unique Transaction Reference (UTR) number along with the name of the depositor.
    3. Upon receiving your UTR number (usually 16 alphanumeric characters), the number would be verified by us to confirm your payment.
    4. NEFT protocol for all banks provides an Additional Information section where you may specify (i) applicant's name, (ii) the phrase "Registration fee".
  5. Other means of payment, such as, by cash or Demand Draft will not be accepted
  6. After successful pre-registration you would be able to print your pre-registration slip. You MUST produce the pre-registration slip during the admission.
  7. Admission desks would open on 26th July 2013 at 10 AM. You must present yourself to admission desk on this day with the following documents:
    1. Signed copy of your pre-registration slip
    2. Self-attested copies of marksheets and certificates of all examinations starting from 10th standard; Photo identity; Proof of date of birth; Proof of fellowship.
    3. 4 (Four) recent passport size photographs
    4. Category certificate if applicable (attested)
    5. Migration certificate (if applicable and available)
    6. Signed copy of Anti-Ragging Form and By Laws Form (available at the Registration Portal in PDF form)
ALL ORIGINALS SHOULD BE WITH THE CANDIDATE AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION FOR VERIFICATION PURPOSE.
