Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, one of the leading Indian research institutes, is now admitting international students for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in the fields of Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, and Physical Sciences. The PhD programme is an introduction to cutting edge research in both theoretical as well as experimental sciences.
How to Apply
International students can apply via two streams:
Eligibility:
Only foreign nationals can apply. At the time of admission, the applicants must have a Master's degree in science with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent.
Application Process:
The application should include details of nationality, department to which applying, subject of research interest, Curriculum Vitae, and the names and e-mail addresses of two referees (teachers or thesis supervisors at the master's level who can give letters of recommendation).

Scans of the first and last pages of passport, academic tract record, and transcripts have to be submitted as attachments.
Last date for Application is 06 May 2019.
Selection:
There will be a shortlisting based on academic credentials. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed online.
Funding:
Ten PhD Fellowships are available to international students.
Eligible students will receive a fellowship of:-
i) JRF (first two years as per norms) : Rs. 31,000/-
ii)SRF (next three three years as per norms) : Rs. 35,000/-
